Argentina was crowned World Champion in Qatar after beating France 4-2 on penalties. Argentina will aim to become the first team since Brazil in 1962 to go back to back FIFA World Champion in United States, Canada and Mexico.
Champions’ Curse
Yes, Lionel Messi and Argentina can win back-to-back World Cups, but they must overcome the so-called “Champions’ Curse” to achieve it. No male team has achieved back-to-back titles since Brazil in 1962.
The recent history showed Defending champion never had good tournament except exception of France in 2022 when they reached back to back final. To break that curse Argentina need to get in form like they were in 2022 World Cup Tournament and defend the cup as their life depends on it.
Injury Crisis
The recent injury crisis in Argentina camp is major concern for Leo Scoloni and coaching staff, as most of the plyers including Messi is not 100% fit to play. Leo is now left out from squad. He suffered injury in training session.
Argentina will need to take care of their main plyers Julian Alvarez, Cristian Romero, Emiliano Martínez and Nico Paz keep them fit for tournament.

Argentina is in group J where they will face Algeria, Austria, and Jordan. If they go on win group J, they will face group H Runner. If they finished 2nd in group J they will face group H winner. In 3rd finish opponent will be determined based on a formulaic bracket matching the highest-ranked 3rd place finishers. In Round of 32 the possible opponents may vary based on group stage finish. But fans will love to see Argentina vs Spain in tournament and further if they face Portugal in knockout stage.
For Argentina to win back to back they have to play as World Champion & defend their title till lats whistle.
